Nicholas Tse Is Reportedly Leaving His S$190mil Fortune To His Two Sons With Cecilia Cheung
What a way to hit back at rumours that he and his boys don’t get along.
Last year, a dubious Chinese report claimed that Lucas Tse, the oldest son of Hongkong stars Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung, had slammed his dad in an interview, saying that he “doesn’t regret [his parents'] divorce” and that “[his father] is not good enough” for his mum.
An understandably unimpressed Nic promptly fought back with a statement through his management agency, clarifying that he has a good relationship with both his children. He also threatened legal action against anyone who continues to spread such harmful hearsay.
Well, the 39-year-old may have come up with another way to shut down all talk that he's a bad father... if recent Taiwanese reports are anything to go by.
According to Mirror Media, the enterprising Nicholas has amassed a huge fortune over the years thanks to his ventures in both business and showbiz — a whopping NT$4bil (S$190mil), to be exact.
And he’s leaving it all to his two boys.

Where did all that dough come from? Well, for starters, his stint as a judge on reality talent show Sing! China in 2018 alone is said to have netted him a cool NT$120mil (S$5.7mil). Then there’s his special effects company Post Production Office, which had an annual output value of NT$24bil (S$1.1bil) at its peak before it was sold to a listed company. Then there are his real estate investments as well.
Of course, let’s not forget his famous F&B empire. In addition to his cooking travelogue shows, a line of kitchen equipment, and cookie and instant noodle brands, the culinary enthusiast also owned several bakeries in Hongkong, which were doing very well until the COVID-19 outbreak forced them to shut down earlier this year.
Food is serious business
As it turns out, Nicholas may have taken on all those ambitious endeavours for the sake of his sons. Rumour has it that he has established a fund, invested his massive wealth into it, and listed Lucas and Quintus as the beneficiaries.
Nic isn't the only parent making big bucks. The boys probably stand to inherit a fortune from their mum as well, who’s had sole custody of them since she and Nic divorced almost a decade ago. Ceci launched a successful online fashion boutique in 2016 and last year, opened her first brick-and-mortar store, which was located just 100m away from one of Nic's bakeries, although that had to close recently too ‘cos of the coronavirus.
