Netizens Surprised To Find Out That Louis Koo’s Stand-In In New Movie Is Maori

Producers needed to cast a stand-in who had the same skin tone as the famously tanned actor. Unlike say, a stunt double, the stand-in doesn’t even appear in the movie. He literally stands in the actor's place while the crew fixes the set lighting and the camera department lights and focuses the scene.

Enter the strapping Maori stand-in who was a perfect match for Louis not just in skin tone but stature as well. In Dynasty Warriors, Louis plays the physically intimidating general Lu Bu.

In fact, the movie's director Roy Chow was reportedly so pleased with his casting choice, he snapped a photo with the Maori actor as a keepsake.

Netizens have made a (not quite PC) joke that Louis is so tanned now they had to cast an actor of a different ethnicity to be his stand-in.

Louis hasn't always been this tanned, though. Back when he was a newbie, the actor was known for his very fair complexion.

However, Louis has shared in multiple interviews that he thinks he looks better tanned and that he maintains it by sunbathing whenever the weather allows it.
