Netizens Say Linda Chung Was "Robbed" Of Best Actress Award, Slam TVB For Giving It To Rosina Lam Instead
The TVB Anniversary Awards last night (Jan 2) was full of surprises.
The TVB Anniversary Awards was held last night (Jan 2), and with all award shows, it wasn’t without controversy.
While Yoyo Chen's non-reaction to her husband Vincent Wong’s Best Actor win dominated the conversation for 2020 Awards, this year was all about Linda Chung getting “robbed” of the Best Actress award.
The 37-year-old put on a stunning performance in Kids’ Lives Matter, with many saying that the heartbreaking scene where her doctor character gives birth to a stillborn baby is worthy of the win itself.
You can judge for yourself here:
During her acceptance speech, the 34-year-old Rosina, who is the cousin of ex TVB actor Raymond Lam, said, “I enrolled in The Central Academy of Drama in 2004. I spent the last 17 years shooting dramas. My teacher told me that you have to remember how to be human before you learn how to act and remember your roots. Thank goodness I never gave up. Thank you mummy, I know you weren’t supportive of me entering showbiz, but today I’ve proven to you that your daughter could make it.”

Rosina revealed in a backstage interview that she thought she had “no chance” of getting the award.
When asked if she thought that Linda would win, she evaded the question by saying: “Whoever wins the award is worthy. I was very happy when I saw Linda get the [Malaysia’s Favourite TVB Actress award] too.”
Linda, on the other hand, shared in her interview that she was “not disappointed at all”.
“I would have to keep working hard. Perhaps I didn’t win because I didn’t do well enough. Maybe I’ll get the chance [to get the Best Actress trophy] in a few years, or even 10 years down the road,” she quipped, adding that she doesn't know when her next drama would be.
Linda has been nominated for the Best Actress award eight times in her career. She is also currently the record-holder for the actress who has received most number of nominations without a single win.
