Netizens Get Nostalgic After '80s Actress Pan Yin Tze, 73, Shares Star-Studded Throwback Pic

Fans of Taiwanese period dramas who are of a certain vintage may be familiar with Hong Kong actress Pan Yin Tze, 73.

Yin Tze, who started out as a film actress in the 1960s, shot to fame after starring as Xiao Long Nu in the 1984 Taiwan TV adaptation of Louis Cha’s novel The Return Of The Condor Heroes.

She followed that up the next year with playing China's first female emperor Wu Zetian in The Empress Of The Dynasty and The Princess of the Dynasty.

Earlier this month, Yin Tze took fans down memory lane when she shared a throwback pic on Weibo.

The nostalgic snap, which appeared to be taken in the late ‘90s, featured several Hong Kong and Taiwan A-listers back in the day.

“A picture worth cherishing. It was very rare for everyone to come together… How many stars do you recognise?” she asked.

In case you’re wondering, that’s the late Leslie Cheung and Andy Lau squatting in front, and joining Yin Tze on the second row are Hong Kong producer Tiffany Chen (in light blue suit), Taiwanese actress Annie Wu, Rosamund Kwan, Athena Chu, and Chingmy Yau.

In the back row are Karen Mok, former Hong Kong actress Pauline Wong, Francis Ng, Annie Yi and Shu Qi.

Netizens were excited to see the rare gathering of stars, with many gushing about how young everyone looked in the pic.

There were comments like “Such a precious photo”, “This was the best era”, and “The sisters and brothers are part of our most beautiful memories”.

One netizen even pointed out how several of the stars had acted in the different adaptations of The Return Of The Condor Heroes over the years.

“What a rare photo. Rosamund Kwan was Xiao Long Nu in the [Hong Kong] movie version, Andy Lau and Leslie Cheung have played Yang Guo, Shu Qi has also played the Hong Fu Nu in [Romance Of Red Dust], and [Yin Tze] has played the Xiao Long Nu and Hong Fu Nu. Such a wonderful fate," she wrote.
