Netizens Accuse Eric Tsang Of Selling Fake Products On His Live Stream
It’s his first online auction and he’s already getting flamed.
Hongkong star Eric Tsang has found himself in a pickle after attempting to cash in on China’s hottest e-commerce trend, live streaming.
Apparently, he had sold “fake wine”, or that's what netizens claim, to his fans on Douyin aka China's version of TikTok.

The 67-year-old comedian was said to have hawked 24 types of alcohol, which included red wine, brandy and whiskey, on the social media app.
Despite it being his first attempt at selling things online, the Hongkong comedy icon managed to rack up a whopping 14mil yuan (S$2.8mil) in sales. He also drew in an average of 100,000 viewers during the five-hour sesh, peaking at over 170,000 viewers at one point. By the end of the live stream, Eric’s Douyin followers increased from 1.62mil to 2.13 mil.

Well, it was until netizens started spamming his account with reviews about the poor quality of the products, and at the same time, demand for refunds.
Complaints aplenty
Netizens who had bought the alcohol complained that it was not of good quality and accused Eric of selling “fake wine”. Others also pointed out the haphazard packaging of the bottles and claimed that the product’s authenticity barcode failed to scan.
“Fake wine. I want my money back,” grumbled an unsatisfied customer. “Big Brother Eric, how can you destroy the trust that we have for you. It’s my first time buying [something online]. This is a trap,” lamented another.
Apparently Eric also sold live seafood, not unlike getai singer Wang Lei. And netizens who bought crayfish from Eric said that the crustaceans turned out to be very small, unlike what the star had promised on the live broadcast.
