Natalie Tong Slammed By Netizens For Her “Terrible” Acting In TVB Drama The Righteous Fists
We wonder if the actress is shell-shocked by the criticism.
TVB drama The Righteous Fists, which premiered on Jan 10, is off to a rocky start.
The blockbuster series has been plagued by bad press even before it aired its first ep. The drama was pushed back numerous times and eventually made it on screen three years after it was orginally set to air.
TVB was also criticised for treating one of the show's leads, actress Grace Wong, “unfairly” when they left her out of the several social media posts to promote the show because she's no longer a TVB artiste.
The production team has also been slammed for not doing due dilligence when it came to the Thai language since the show is set in Thailand.
Now, leading lady Natalie Tong has been slammed by netizens for what they say is “terrible” and “unnatural” acting.
Stunned like vegetable
Netizens say that the 39-year-old, who plays swindler Chin Chien-Chien in the drama, “expresses surprise on the show like how a rookie actress would”.
Screenshots of Natalie displaying OTT wide-eyed expressions in various scenes have gone viral, leading netizens to say that this is “not the caliber of acting a Best Actress recipient should have”.
In case you forgot, Natalie won the award at the 2017 TVB Anniversary Awards for her role in My Unfair Lady.
Natalie has been nominated three more times in that category since her big win and so netizens say there is “no excuse” for her not to be able to express emotions in a more believable manner.
