“He Hugged Their Husbands Too”: Myolie Wu Calls Photos Of Her Husband Embracing Other Women “A Misunderstanding”

Recently, 45-year-old ex-TVB actress Myolie Wu shared she had taken her eldest son, Brendan, seven, on a mummy-son trip to Beijing over the Easter holiday.

Myolie and husband, businessman Philip Lee, have two younger sons, Ryan, five, and three-year-old Liam.

In her post, the actress revealed she had always wanted to go on solo trips with her kids and chose Beijing as Brendan had never visited the city before.

They checked out landmarks such as the Capital Museum, The Palace Museum and SoReal Science Park Myolie said Brendan thoroughly enjoyed himself and she is now looking forward to her solo vacations with her younger sons.

Chinese netizens were thrilled by Myolie's visit, with some praising her for being a great mum.

This trip comes after Philip's recent scandal, where he was filmed hugging women - who are not Myolie - in a pub. Philip took to his Instagram to rubbish rumours of his infidelity, claiming he's "just a big hugger" who loves hugging the people around him.

Myolie also recently spoke about the scandal, calling it a "big misunderstanding". She knows the women, sharing that their respective husbands were at the party too.

"My husband hugged the husbands and he also hugged the wives," she said. "When the images came out, they were filtered out and freeze-framed so it's definitely a misunderstanding. Everything is okay with us!"

As for rumours that the photos were taken by a mole who had infiltrated his friend group, Myolie said her husband had gone through CCTV footage of that night and discovered a stranger who sneakily took the pics.

"I believe that person was tasked to do that," said Myolie. "My husband also knew someone was taking his photos but he thought his behaviour was appropriate so he did not care about it. He sure didn't expect the matter to blow up like that."

So is Philip going to be more mindful of his actions in public now?

"I think my husband won't dare to go to such public places anymore," said Myolie. "There's nothing that can be done anyway. He is married to me. People will notice everything he does. I believe he was just socialising normally. I don't have to worry."
