M'sian Woman Claims Boss Demanded Selfie With Newborn To Prove She Had Given Birth

A Malaysian woman’s online account of her employer’s alleged unreasonable demands while she was recovering after giving birth has left the internet stunned.

The woman said while she was still recovering in the hospital after giving birth, her boss repeatedly asked her to provide photo evidence to prove she had actually delivered her baby.

Her husband had already sent her boss a photo of the baby's registration card, which clearly showed her name and her child's date of birth. But it was apparently not enough.

“My boss kept pushing me to take a selfie while holding my baby. They even asked me to take a photo of my medical records to prove that I had been admitted to the maternity ward.”

“Couldn’t they have waited until I was discharged before asking for all this?” she said.

Feeling frustrated and helpless, she eventually sent a photo of herself a pink hospital gown. However, she claimed her employer still refused to believe her and insisted on seeing a photo of her with her baby.

What upset her the most was how, despite cooperating with all the unreasonable demands, the company still did not renew her contract.

Many netizens have since expressed shock and anger over her experience. Many questioned the need for proof while others guessed that her former employer might have simply been looking for an excuse not to renew her contract.

“Does someone like this even deserve to be a boss? Based on this behaviour, if an employee passed away, they might even demand that the person provide proof of their own death," wrote one netizen.

Well, after everything she went through, perhaps not having this boss wasn’t the worst outcome.
