M’sian Influencer Brings Cash-Filled Luggage To Buy 15kg Of Gold Jewellery; Criticised For Flaunting Wealth
She only managed to get 6kg of gold necklaces and bracelets during her visit, spending an estimated S$756K.

Malaysian influencer and entrepreneur Anes Ayunie Osman has sparked backlash after a video of her wheeling a suitcase filled with cash to purchase 15kg of gold jewellery went viral.
Her video, which documents her trip to the goldsmith, was posted four days ago and has amassed over 2.7 million views on TikTok.
Accompanied by her husband, Ayunie arrived at the shop with a large black suitcase in tow.
She informed the staff of her intention to buy 15kg of gold, explaining that she wanted to secure her purchase before gold prices rose further.
She then opened her luggage to reveal stacks of cash wrapped in plastic.
During the visit, Ayunie only managed to buy 6kg of gold necklaces and bracelets, — the maximum the shop could provide that day — spending an estimated RM2.5mil (S$756K).
She arranged to return the next day to buy the remaining 9kg of gold.
While some praised Ayunie for making a “smart investment”, the video sparked widespread criticism.
Many accused her of “flaunting her wealth” and questioned her decision to pay entirely in cash when using a card or bank transfer would have been far more convenient.
Concerns about safety and practicality also emerged.
Some netizens noted that carrying such a large amount of cash could attract unwanted attention or even danger.
“The tax bureau would absolutely love to see this kind of content,” quipped one netizen, while another remarked: “Money cannot buy class.”
