Age is just a number? Well, Malaysian football legend Datuk Abdah Alif, 72, has tied the knot with a woman reportedly aged 20.

Yes, that's a 52-year age gap.

According to Malaysian media, the couple married in Kuala Terengganu on August 27.

Photos of Abdah and his partner began circulating online and got football fans wondering about their relationship.

His younger brother, former Malaysian national footballer and coach Datuk Yunus Alif, has since confirmed the news.

"Both families agreed to the marriage, so there are no issues. We pray that they'll be happy together,” Yunus told Malaysian daily Harian Metro.

And if anyone is wondering why his brother is the one confirming the news?

"Maybe they're on their honeymoon now. That's probably why he isn't answering his calls," Yunus surmised.

Abdah played for the Malaysian national team in the late '70s and early '80s.

Most notably, he was part of the Malaysian squad that earned a place at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, after beating South Korea 2-1 in a decisive qualifying match.

Malaysia subsequently joined the boycott of the Moscow Olympics following the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan.
