Moses Chan Receives Best Actor Award, His First After 16 Years, From Wife Aimee Chan

No one was more emotional than actress Aimee Chan, 42, when hubby Moses Chan, 52, won Best Actor for his role as drug lord Man Wah in Narcotics Heroes at the 2023 TVB Anniversary Awards last night (Jan 14).
Tears welled up Aimee’s eyes as she hugged and presented the award to him.
Well, we don’t blame her, it’s been quite a wait.
Moses, who has been with TVB for 23 years, has been nominated in this category 12 times.
He last won Best Actor 16 years ago for his role in 2007’s Heart of Greed.
At the time, he hadn’t even gotten to know Aimee.
What made the win even more special was that he received the award from Aimee.
Interestingly, TVB arranged for the wives of all the Best Actor nominees to present the award. There was Aimee, and the newly-minted Mrs Kenneth Ma, Roxanne Tong, Ruco Chan and Edwin Siu’s respective wives Phoebe Sin and Priscilla Wong were also on stage.
The only one missing was Joel Chan’s wife, Apple Ho, who is not in showbiz.
“It's rare that she attended this year's awards ceremony, and it felt different to have her present the award. She brought tears to my eyes, and this kind of emotion is unique. Few people get to experience this feeling of receiving an award from their wife. It’s sweet, with a bit of 'overflow'!" quipped Moses.
But the celebrations would have to wait as the couple’s three kids, Aidan Joshua, 10, Nathan, eight, and Camilla, seven, didn’t join them in Macau, where the ceremony was held.
Furthermore, Moses isn’t someone who celebrates winning awards.
"I'm very happy to have won, but I'm someone who will close my eyes and continue to work hard. I won't magnify this matter. Perhaps, over these many years, I've become accustomed to it. In 17 years, [he's been nominated] more than 20 times. I already understand how this industry works. I don't want awards to hinder me from progressing. As I get older, I have more experience and demands on acting. The award tells me that I am moving in the right direction, and I can continue to do it,” he said.
He's definitely on the right track.
The actor, who joined TVB in 2000, is reportedly the broadcaster’s highest-paid actor, earning a whopping HK$30mil (S$5.24mil) a year.
