Awkward… but at least her son got in?

Hong Kong star Miriam Yeung, 49, recently shared this hilarious anecdote about the time she went for an interview at a school she wanted to enrol her 10-year-old son Torres in.

According to reports, Miriam and her PR guru husband Real Ting, 43, moved to Shanghai in 2021. There, they enrolled their son in one of the city’s top schools, where school fees are estimated to be around 280,000 yuan (S$60K) a year.

And in a recent episode of variety show Po-Po-Poker, where celebs play poker and trade stories, she revealed that she once attended a school entrance interview with Torres, where she caught the foreign interviewer doing something surreptitiously on their phone.

Miriam's a star, okay?

It turned out that the interviewer, who happened to be wearing glasses, was attempting to google Miriam’s name on on the spot.

Miriam had caught sight of the entire thing, since the interviewer’s phone screen was reflected in their glasses.

While Miriam didn’t share whether she confronted the interviewer, she did reveal that they passed the entrance interview, thanks to Miriam’s answers.

The mother-of-one told the interviewer that Torres was her “first priority”, and that she would do whatever she can in order to spend time with Torres as he works on his studies.

Wonder if her celeb status helped, though.

Family comes first for Miriam.
