Mike He denies being “forced” into marriage by wife
Rumours alleged that the actor’s spouse had used her pregnancy to force his hand
Taiwanese actor Mike He made his first public appearance at a press conference on Tuesday, where he shared more about his new wife and daughter.
The actor had dropped a bombshell on everyone on Facebook on June 5, when he announced that he had tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend earlier, and that the couple has a 4-month-old daughter, nicknamed Meibao.
Mike confirmed that his wife was his “first love,” and that they had dated on-and-off for a few years. After a reunion in 2012, the couple dated for five years, before tying the knot.
The 33-year-old also addressed the rumours that his wife had “forced” him into marrying her as she was pregnant with his child.
“This is complete nonsense, a malicious attack on me. The scriptwriter is really great, [for writing up such lies],” he asserted.
Mike later shared that they had travelled to Guam to give birth as he wanted to protect the privacy of his wife. The actor shared that he was very calm when his wife announced the news of her pregnancy, and even repeated what he had said back then.
“Oh, that’s good, [let’s] give birth [to the child] then,” he shared.
The actor also added that his wife is not from the entertainment industry and found it unfair that the media posted her pictures “without confirming them first.”
“It looks like they all used her older pictures, where she looked ugly. In fact, she looks really pretty now,” he quipped.
