Michelle Chen, Chen Xiao Said To Be Headed For Divorce, He Allegedly Moved Out Of Their Home Last Year

Rumours are rife again that Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen, 41, and 36-year-old Chinese actor Chen Xiao’s eight-year marriage is on the rocks.

The couple tied the knot in 2016 after meeting on the set of 2014 Chinese drama The Romance Of The Condor Heroes. They have a seven-year-old son, Muchen.

Chinese paparazzo Jiang Xiaoyan, who has been observing the pair for the past six months, claimed in a live stream yesterday (Jun 19) that “Chen Xiao is determined to divorce [Michelle Chen]”.

He claimed that the actor brought up divorce at the end of last year. Chen Xiao did not give a reason, only saying he was willing to leave the marriage with nothing.

Since then, it was alleged that Chen Xiao has barely returned home and has changed his phone number, making it impossible for Michelle to contact him directly.

According to the paparazzo, the couple have not been seen together for the past six months.

He also pointed out that unlike previous years, Chen Xiao did not send birthday wishes to Michelle on May 31, further fuelling speculations.

Chen Xiao’s team did not respond when asked about the rumours.

The pair have been plagued with such rumours for the past eight years.

In 2019, Michelle refuted talk that she and Chen Xiao were in the midst of a cold war and were splitting up.

"My husband and I have a tacit understanding that we will not discuss comments about us. I told him that we should just live our lives. The world doesn't need to know," she said.
