After a Covid delay, Hong Kong actor Michael Wong and model Janet Ma’s eldest daughter Kayla Wong, 29, has finally tied the knot with her photographer girlfriend Elaine Chen.

The wedding was held at an outdoor camp at Joshua Tree, a park in California, on Saturday (Sep 24), and the Wong family took to Instagram to share snaps from the celebration.

In the photos, Kayla donned a white strappy gown, while Elaine was in a white suit and hat.

Janet also shared more about the wedding with Mingpao, saying the family is “so happy to witness [Kayla] entering another phase of life”.

According to Janet, there was no special theme for the wedding. The couple chose the venue 'cos they like nature and wanted something “more casual” and in line with their personalities.

The weather was initially windy and rainy, but the skies suddenly cleared and “a rainbow appeared for them”.

Not only were they blessed with a rainbow, there was a heart-shaped cloud too.

She added that Michael walked Kayla into the venue and her younger daughter Irisa, 26, gave a speech at the wedding.

Janet and Michael also have a 22-year-old son, Kadin

Looks like the weather was perfect for the rest of the day too, as guests dined under the beautiful sunset before taking the festivities indoors.

Kayla and Elaine, whose family founded Hang Lung Group, one of Hong Kong's biggest property developers, got engaged in September 2020, after a year of dating.

They were supposed to tie the knot last year but the wedding was posponed due to the pandemic. The couple will settle down in the US.
