A-Mei sues industry insider for spreading false rumours
The entertainment insider had implied that A-Mei has a secret child

Taiwanese singer A-Mei is gearing up to lay down the law on an entertainment industry insider, who had alleged that A-Mei has “already become a mother” on a variety show recently.
A variety show had recently invited a number of entertainment industry insiders to guest on their show, and one particular insider had shared that “a certain female singer who’s really popular” had secretly given birth to a child during her salad days.
The insider added that the female singer had admitted that she “has a child” during a show once, but the footage was confiscated and subsequently destroyed by a high-ranking executive. Thus, “no one knows of the matter at all”.
After the surprising reveal, the host immediately asked the insider to sing a line from the singer’s song, so that everyone could have a hint as to who it was.
However, the insider declined to do so, and would only say, “If I do that, I’d feel as if [my] heartache is more truthful as compared to my joy,” quoting a line from A-Mei’s song, ‘Truth’.
After getting wind of the rumours, A-Mei was reportedly incensed by the insider’s lies and has engaged a lawyer to send out a letter to the insider, in preparation for a court case.
This is not the first time the 43-year-old has been embroiled in these rumours. A few years ago, she was reported to have allowed her elder brother and mother to bring “her daughter” up on-stage at one of her concerts.
However, A-Mei later clarified that the little girl was her brother’s daughter.
Taiwanese songstress A-Mei has been in a relationship with her bartender boyfriend, Sam, for five years.
