A-Mei might have a flash marriage next year?

As both her career and her love life’s going swimmingly well these days, Taiwanese singer A-Mei declared at the press conference for her upcoming 2018 concert tour that she might just have a flash marriage soon, “when the [right] feeling comes.”

The 45-year-old, who recently released a new album, Story Thief after two years, held a press conference in Taipei, Taiwan yesterday, on her 21st work anniversary. During the press conference, A-Mei announced that she’ll be holding a concert to promote ‘Story Thief’ on February 4 next year in Taipei .

A-Mei also shared more about the story behind her new song, ‘Shen Hou’, explaining that there happened to be a spate of murder cases at that time, in addition to the passing of her second sister. “I cry quite easily, and in that moment, the pain that comes with the death of someone close to you was even more apparent to me. So, I met with JJ Lin and HUSH [who composed and wrote the lyrics for the song] for a discussion, and they came up with this song,” the songstress said.

She also touched on the rumours regarding her participation in the Chinese television programme, Singer 2017. “I really wanted to take part in the first season, as I like taking on challenges. I heard from [Taiwanese composer] Isaac Chen that the show had indeed extended an invitation to me, but as I’m currently busy with my new album and music video filming, our schedules couldn’t match up.”

The singer also fielded questions about her relationship with her boyfriend of five years, Sam, sharing that she’ll tie the knot with him “when the [right] feeling comes”, not ruling out the possibility of a flash marriage.

A-Mei has been in a relationship with her bartender boyfriend, Sam, for five years, but as the singer is fiercely private about her personal life, the couple is rarely photographed together.
