A Maybank Branch In M'sia Has Turned Into A Must-Visit Stop For Tourists
The best way to mark an overseas trip would be to snap pictures with the country’s most iconic landmarks, like Singapore’s Merlion, or Japan’s Mount Fuji.
But we bet you would never guess that the current hottest photo destination for tourists in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia is... a Maybank branch.
A search on Chinese social media app Xiao Hong Shu sees the bank listed as a “must-visit site” of the city.
Numerous posts feature tourists posing on a narrow one-way street with the bright yellow Maybank signboard in the background.
According to locals, that Maybank branch has been under renovation for quite some time now, and the area is seldom busy, making it a perfect place for a photoshoot.
Other than serving as a reminder of their time in Malaysia, tourists are loving the “bright” and “cool” background the signboard provides.
Some have also said it is “relatively easy getting to the branch”, and that “the sidewalks in that area are very clean”.
A good number of Malaysians were puzzled, not to mention amused at how the random bank branch has become so popular.
