Matilda Tao Gets Emo About Being “Dumped” On Valentine’s Day… By A Former Employee Of Her Mala Food Stall

One of their newest hires was a young man nicknamed “Ah Guang” who had a professional licence and seemed pretty capable at first… only for him to let everyone down in the end.

On February 14, Matilda did a live broadcast on Facebook with the very dramatic caption “A heartbreaking Valentine’s Day”, during which she said: “We were dumped by someone today!”

Don’t worry, she wasn’t referring to her marriage.

Instead, the 52-year-old was airing her grievances about Ah Guang, who was a Laa Cup Cup employee for just two days before unceremoniously quitting without any notice.

“At midnight on Valentine’s Day, he sent a text message to his supervisor saying that he will no longer be coming to work,” Matilda recalled, adding that all Ah Guang said was he has “other career plans” and that he did not answer their calls the whole day.

Of course, Ah Guang’s abrupt exit had an impact on the stall’s operations, leading Matilda to sigh: “The staff had so much hope ‘cos there was finally someone to come and help, but I never expected him to leave after two days. Everyone was dumbfounded.”

“If you were tired, couldn’t you have said goodbye in a better way?” she continued. “You could have talked about it and we would have been mentally prepared.”

Despite the setback, the star decided to react to the saga in a hilarious way during her live stream by singing emo love songs, as such Huang Pin Yuan’s ‘How Can You Allow Me to be in Sorrow’ and Jody Chiang’s ‘Spilling Truth After Drinks’.

When she was singing David Lee’s ‘Every Time I Always Want to Call Your Name’ and got to the part that goes “I met you on the street by chance”, Matilda looked into the camera and said in an apparent ‘warning’ to Ah Guang: “Don’t let me meet you!”
