18-Yr-Old Woman's 43-Yr-Old Boyfriend Offered Her Up To S$1.2mil To Have His Child

An 18-year-old woman from Taiwan went viral on social media after sharing about a recent discussion she had with her 43-year-old boyfriend.

She revealed that they have been dating for nearly six months, and that their personalities mesh well. However, they have an issue and it's partially to do with their 25-year age gap.

Due to his age, her boyfriend wants to have a child, but he's told her that he does not require them to get married — he simply wants her to give birth to a child that would carry his bloodline, and does not want to “tie her down” with marriage, 

He then promised that if she agrees to have a child with him, he would give her NT$20-30 million (S$860,000-$1.2 million), and even claimed that he has already prepared a cheque and all that's left is her consent. 

The woman admitted to feeling conflicted and troubled over whether to accept his request, and turned to online users for advice.

Many netizens, unsurprisingly, found the proposal irrational, with the majority warning her not to be swayed by money. 

One commenter warned of the worst-possible scenario, writing: "Perhaps this is only something an 18-year-old would fall for. The cheque might bounce, and even if the money enters her account, she must be able to withdraw the cash for it to be legit. Or else, she would just be duped into sleeping with him."

Some pointed out potential loopholes in this arrangement. "Is it possible that you'll be in charge of raising the kid, and the money is to cover all future expenses?" someone asked.

Several others expressed concern that the woman could end up a single parent, urging her to think carefully before implicating an innocent life.

"What kind of sugar daddy situation is this?” one netizen asked.

One bluntly wrote: “This sounds like a scam." 

They cautioned her against making a rash decision, saying that she is still young and could come to regret it in the future. Many also emphasised that the decision to have a child should never be treated as a financial transaction, as being a parent involves far more than just giving birth.
