Makiyo regrets past actions
The actress breaks down in tears at her first variety show appearance in two years

Taiwanese actress Makiyo’s life has been in the slumps after the death of her mother in 2015 and her drunken brawl with a taxi driver in 2012. She has cleaned up her act and now leads a prudent life after selling off her late mother’s apartment.
After getting her life back in order, Makiyo made her first TV appearance on Jacky Wu’s variety show, Super Followers, to talk about her troubled past. The variety show host revealed that Makiyo’s late mother had called him previously and told him to take good care of her daughter.
“I’m most worried about Makiyo’s inability to express herself properly,” said Jackie, as he recounted her mother’s words to him. “She ends up saying [the wrong] things that can often be misunderstood.”
Upon hearing this, the 33-year-old actress broke down in tears and apologised, again, for her actions five years ago. She revealed that many insults were hurled at her after the incident and added that she felt sorry for both the victim and his family, as well as the people around her that were affected by this.
Jacky attempted to lighten the mood in the studio by poking fun at Makiyo for getting a heat stroke in summer because she wore a winter jacket outside.
Looking considerably thinner on the show, Makiyo revealed that she experienced a loss of appetite and lost a total of 10 kilograms because of the heatstroke. It also caused her to be bedridden for two weeks, said Makiyo.
“I have yet to take out my summer clothes so I wore a winter jacket out. I couldn’t feel how hot it was outside [but] my mother had a habit of wearing a jacket out and I did the same thing,” she explained.
