MAKE A SPLASH: Mermaids in pop culture

It may have sounded too good to be true at first, but K-drama king and queen Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun made dream collaboration fantasies come true when the first episode of Legend of the Blue Sea premiered in Korea on Wednesday (November 16), and in Singapore on Thursday (November 17).

Unsurprisingly, it garnered impressive nationwide ratings – 15.4 percent – in its home country, surpassing that of other hit dramas like Descendants of the Sun, Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and The Heirs. The drama generated tons of buzz ever since the announcement of the powerhouse cast, and the many teaser images and trailers fanned the flames of excitement ahead of its release even more.
