Hong Kong screen goddess Maggie Cheung, 58, recently made a rare appearance in public via video. The short 15-second video was broadcast on Douyin during a concert the app held to promote old Hong Kong classics.

Though Maggie did not perform during the concert, she spoke briefly to viewers, sharing that Hong Kong diva Anita Mui’s 1984 song, ‘Fate', is one of her favourite songs.

“I’m particularly looking forward to Fiona Sit and Anthony Lun’s cover [of that song],” she said.

She looks good, though.

Maggie’s appearance in the video drew mixed responses from netizens.

Some praised the star for her beauty, with one noting that she “looks better now that she’s put on some weight”.

Others gushed that listening to Maggie talk felt like they were watching her act in a movie once again.

Really?!

However, there were some netizens who weren’t so positive when it came to their comments. One wrote that Maggie’s face “seemed to be frozen”, while another added that the star appeared to have done something to her face, causing it to look unnatural.

Maggie has largely kept a low profile — save for the occasional appearance and performance at events — after retiring from acting in 2006.

In recent months, however, it seems like she might just be open to returning to showbiz, having joined Douyin, and even DJ-ed at an event earlier this year.
