Louis Koo Was Moved To Tears During His Pal Sammi Cheng's Best Actress Speech At The Hong Kong Film Awards

Sammi Cheng's Best Actress win at the Hong Kong Film Awards earlier this week (Apr 16) was an emotional moment for a lot of people.

Before emerging victorious with her role in Lost Love, she was nominated for the award nine times with no wins over a two-decade period.

But Sammi was not the only person who was overwhelmed with emotion that night.

In her speech, the pop diva shared how hard it was for her to transition from comedy to serious dramas. She also talked about how her efforts had not been acknowledged for many years.

While Sammi was on stage, the camera panned to the audience and managed to capture her good pal Louis Koo wiping tears from his eyes.

Needless to say, the 52-year-old actor was clearly touched by Sammi's win.

Sammi and Louis are friendship goals

For those who don't know, Sammi and Louis go way back.

The long-time screen couple have starred opposite each other in dramas Man's Best Friend (1999) and Romancing in Thin Air (2012) as well as movies Love For All Seasons's (2003) and Good Times, Bed Times (2003).

Sammi also once invited Louis to be a guest performer at her concert, and they performed her song 'Boyfriend'  together.
