Charlyn Lin
- Due: March 2016
- Gender: a boy
Charlyn’s second child has probably travelled to more places as a foetus than we have as twentysomethings. The local television host filmed the Channel U infotainment programme Rites of Motherhood last year in Taiwan, Cambodia, Bali in Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Japan, and she didn’t tell the crew she was with child until filming was coming to an end.
Caleb, her first child with husband Alfred Tang, turned four last year, a good age for him to welcome a younger sibling, Charlyn said. They nicknamed it Cherrypie.
“Received a kiss from Cherrypie during our checkup,” Charlyn wrote on Instagram recently. “Thank you little darling! We can't wait to carry you in our arms and shower you with (kisses). Please keep growing!”

Candyce Toh and Ang Junyang
- Due: April 2016
- Gender: a girl
Project SuperStar contestants way back in 2005, parents-to-be today. After being married for five years, Candyce and Junyang announced last October that they were expecting a new addition to their family of three (the couple have a fur kid, a golden retriever named Tuffy.)
“Our family is expanding, with a new addition in 2016! Tuffy is gonna be an elder brother!” Junyang wrote on Instagram last December.
But with Junyang working in music production at Ocean Butterflies and based in Taiwan for the past four years, some major decisions will have to be made. He said he has requested a transfer to Singapore from his company, and moving his family to Taiwan would be an option too, but he hopes his daughter will receive her education here.

Kate Pang and Andie Chen
- Due: June 2016
- Gender: a girl
Little Aden has a baby sister on the way, and we couldn’t be happier for him. Kate found out about her unplanned pregnancy during her belated honeymoon to New Zealand this year with her husband, when she took a pregnancy test before signing up for bungee jumping. (She didn’t go through with the jump, don’t worry.)
Andie confirmed the news on Instagram last December after Kate made it through the first trimester without incident. Referring to Kate’s miscarriage in April, he wrote, “Having Aden was such a walk in the park that when Kate and I lost our second child it seemed almost surreal. This time round, it feels like we are climbing a mountain, nerve wrecking yet exhilarating every step of the way.”
It looks like Kandie Network, the new parenting portal Kate and Andie set up in early January, will be getting lots of new material to feature as Kate documents her second pregnancy online.

Angelica Lee and Oxide Pang
- Due: May 2016
- Gender: Male
Angelica has not one but two buns in the oven. The Malaysian actress announced the good news on Weibo and Facebook along with an illustration of what appears to be her husband, Hong Kong director Oxide Pang, holding hands with a heavily pregnant Angelica.
Oxide said he would set work aside to keep his wife company, and Angelica plans to return to Malaysia for the latter four months of her pregnancy. Married since 2010, the couple have one 16-year-old daughter from Oxide’s first marriage.
Amid the flurry of congratulations on social media Angelica received, netizens were quick to remind her to keep tabs on Oxide. “Hope your husband won’t cheat again,” one wrote. It seems the Internet hasn’t forgotten about the director and his two infidelity scandals.

Jessica Cambensy and Andy On
- Due: March 2016
- Gender: a girl
The Hong Kong–based American artistes are expecting their first child, a girl to be named Tessa. Jessica has returned to the US to await delivery, and Andy will head over after he clears his work to cut the cord in person. The engaged couple may hold make-up weddings in Hong Kong and the US in October, Andy said recently.
The pair turned up the heat with their maternity photos, which they released in January, though the pictures were taken when Jessica was 6 months pregnant.

Aimee Chan and Moses Chan
- Due: late April or early May 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
Aimee has been one productive actress of late. After producing two sons, Aiden Joshua and Nathan Lucas, she’s expecting her third child soon and she completed Chapman To’s directorial debut, Let’s Eat!, over the course of her pregnancy. Filming began last September, Aimee announced she was expecting in October, and she promoted the food-themed comedy while 6 months pregnant.
Moses once said he hoped for a daughter, but the gender of Baby #3 hasn’t been revealed yet. The actors both want a large family and a lively household, but Aimee said she would like to stop at three so she can return to acting someday.
Let’s Eat! is showing at all major local cinemas.

Benny Chan
- Due: May 2016
- Gender: a girl
The Hong Kong actor has two daughters and a son with wife Lisa Jiang, but he said he likes a large, lively household. “Every baby comes as a surprise for us, and we’ve never decided whether to have a child or not,” he said last year when he attended Hong Kong Disneyland’s 10th anniversary celebrations with his family.
Lisa conceived their fourth child, a girl, just 10 months after she gave birth to their third. When Benny attended a media event for his drama series New Mad-Monk last October, he was asked whether he was gunning for 10 kids within 10 years of marriage, since he was going on four kids in four years. The actor didn’t rule it out; instead he said he’d let nature take its course.

Serina Liu (Liu Zhen)
- Due: February 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
Serina, a 40-year-old Taiwanese ballroom dancer and a one-time variety co-host with Jacky Wu, announced last year that she was 3 months pregnant. She married singer–songwriter Shin Lung in April 2014, and their maternity photos were published this January.
Shin Lung, 43, has been the model husband, cooking Serina’s meals every day, including her favourite bird’s nest soup, and even forbidding her to pick things up from the floor. Serina has also put dancing on hold to prepare for delivery.

Barbie Hsu
- Due: likely June 2016
- Gender: a boy
Barbie’s mother hinted to the media that her daughter had good news to share, but the Taiwanese singer and actress was livid that her second pregnancy was leaked when she was only one month along — the folk custom is to confirm it only after the first trimester has passed.
“These days celebrities are getting pregnant and having babies every day, why the hurry to report on me?” she said then. Fans accused her of having double standards, as she confirmed her first pregnancy herself after just the first month.
Barbie has a daughter, 2-year-old Hsi Yueh, with her husband, Chinese entrepreneur Wang Xiaofei, and she once said she hoped to have a son next to carry on the family line for her husband, an only child himself.

Annie Yi and Qin Hao
- Due: July 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
After her second marriage to the Chinese actor 10 years her junior set tongues wagging, Annie needed some good news to wash away the negativity. The Taiwanese singer and actress was seen in a long, baggy top while out meeting a female friend at a cafe in early January, and within days her husband, Qin Hao, confirmed on Weibo that they were expecting.
Though she has a 13-year-old son, Harrison, from her first marriage to Harlem Yu, Annie has been open about wanting a second child. She confirmed she had gone for a consultation on IVF treatment, and said, “Mr Qin is ready, and Harrison hopes to have a younger sister.”
The 46-year-old known for her youthful features said she will put in effort to maintain her looks so that she will look like her unborn child’s older sister.

Jun Ji Hyun
- Due: likely February or March 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
The My Love from Another Star actress announced she was 10 weeks pregnant last July while attending a media event for her 2015 espionage action film Assassination. Married to banker Choi Jun-hyuk since 2012, Ji Hyun said she had been trying for a baby for a long time.
She ceased media appearances for Assassination soon after her announcement and restricted herself to shooting a print ad when she was 19 weeks along. Netizens who caught sight of Ji Hyun out doing a spot of grocery shopping were in awe that she showed no sign of water retention.
Her last public appearance was reportedly the 2015 Korean Pop Culture Awards late last October in Seoul. Though she was rumoured to be carrying a boy, the South Korean actress has revealed little about her pregnancy.
Update: Ji Hyun gave birth to a boy on February 10.

Ahn Jae Wook
- Due: likely February or March 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
Jae Wook, one of the pioneer hallyu heartthrobs, ended his bachelorhood last June, and within a month of the wedding he announced that his wife, stage actress Choi Hyun Joo, was three weeks pregnant. Jae Wook confirmed the news on his Instagram account too, saying, “Starting today, I’ve become a father!” He also shared an ultrasound image of a miniscule foetus.
The father-to-be hosted a baby shower with his wife in January, and he revealed the nickname of his child, Han-bang, so named because it was conceived on its parents’ wedding night.

Han Ga-in and Yeon Jung Hoon
- Due: February or March 2016
- Gender: undisclosed
In an age when stars make the news for issuing baby announcements before wedding announcements, these South Korean actors spent nearly 10 years being married before they confirmed they were expecting their first child in April 2014.
Unfortunately, Ga-in suffered a natural miscarriage just nine weeks in, according to her agency, BH Entertainment. So this time round, the couple waited until the tail end of the second trimester before making public the happy news.

Min Sunye
- Due: undisclosed
- Gender: undisclosed
The former leader of South Korean pop group Wonder Girls ended official promotions with the outfit in January 2013 before she married her Korean-Canadian fiance, James Pak, from Toronto. Her official withdrawal from Wonder Girls and her contract termination was announced last July, with the reason being her wish to devote more time to her growing family.
Sunye, 26, gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Hailey, in October 2013, and she announced she was expecting again last September, though she didn’t reveal how far along she was then.

Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu
Even though we still haven’t caught a proper glimpse of Baby Qi, we can’t wait to see squeal-worthy sibling playtime updates on Joanne’s Instagram. The actress said she might try for a second child this year because she was told that a year and a half was the best age gap between siblings.
Plus, she said she misses the experience of being pregnant and looking forward to a baby’s arrival. We’re just not sure if she’d go through a drug-free natural delivery again — she was in labour for 16 hours last August, as seen in the birthing footage aired on the programme Baby Steps.

Lee Hom
The Mandopop singer’s baby, Jiali, is another famous tot with a perpetually obscured face. A year ago Lee Hom and his wife, Lee Jinglei, were rumoured to be expecting a second baby when she appeared at the filming location of his commercial wearing a large, heavy overcoat, which to celebrity watchers means one is hiding a pregnancy and not that the weather is cold.
The couple said they are open to having more children but denied the pregnancy rumours. And when a series of tiny clues hinted at another baby on the way last May, Lee Hom gave an ambiguous reply: “I’ll keep you updated when I have some good news.”

Anita Yuen and Julian Cheung
Married in 2001, the Hong Kong couple have been trying for a second child since 2010, when they reportedly paid a visit to a renowned gynaecologist. Anita had intended to give their firstborn, 9-year-old Morton, a sibling before she turned 40, but that was four years ago. Early this year, husband and wife were seen at a temple in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, presumably to pray for another child.
Julian said he hoped to have a daughter next, and even Morton offered to pitch in and look after his little sister or brother. The affectionate couple celebrated their 15th year of marriage by taking wedding photos, published last month, but we’re still holding out for other good news.

Angelababy and Huang Xiaoming
Once the newlyweds were married last October, the intense media focus on them turned to whether they were expecting. Angelababy said while attending a recent Chinese New Year event that she hopes to have children in the Year of the Monkey, preferably a twin boy and girl so she can have two children in one go.
The Hong Kong–based model, 26, faces some pressure from Xiaoming’s mother, who has said she hopes to have at least six grandchildren from her and the Chinese actor. But Angelababy said she prefers to keep it to two or three.
