Liza Wang, 74, Called “Disrespectful” For Posting Pics of Her In-Laws’ Graves
She's been told to delete them from social media.
Last week, TVB Ah Jie Liza Wang, 74, ended her 14-day quarantine in Macau, where she's holding a concert next month.
And one of the first things Liza did upon regaining her freedom was to pay respects at the graves of her parents-in-law. Her 75-year-old husband Law Kar-Ying is currently on a vacation in Singapore.
Liza also documented the event on Instagram. The star, who was at the cemetery with a friend, wrote: “Day 16 In Macau. [I] Had to take a [Covid] test this morning.”
“Asked Ah Peng to visit our ancestors’ graves with me [at] Memorial Park Hong Kong, Kar-Ying Kor’s father and mother are buried here. [We] pay our respects once a year,” she added.
However, her followers had very conflicting views about her post.
While some praised Ah Jie for being a filial daughter-in-law, some felt that it wasn’t very respectful of her to snap pictures of the graves.
One netizen commented: “Madam Liza Wang, please delete these photos and videos, it would be better. [You should] Even remove the raw images from your phone."
“Mrs Law, please don’t mind me sharing, my mum taught me that we usually shouldn’t take pictures in front of tombs, especially not a frontal shot. Because this is somewhat disrespectful, if you want a picture, you can just take one outside the memorial park,” wrote another netizen.
Which she did by the way:
But there were also some netizens who defended Liza.
“I'm born in 1995 and seeing how filial Ah Jie is makes me believe that she is a good role model for the future generations,” said one such netizen.
