Linda Chung Turns Down Role In Sequel To TVB Drama Kids’ Lives Matter
Does it have anything to do with her not winning Best Actress for her role in the hit drama?
Good news for fans of TVB blockbuster drama Kids’ Lives Matter. A sequel for the popular series is in the works and production is slated to begin in July.
However, the medical drama, which starred Linda Chung, Kevin Cheng, Kenneth Ma and Him Law as pediatricians, will feature a brand new story.
The original cast will also not likely be returning for the sequel.
Producer Ben Fong revealed in an interview that everything “is still in discussion”.
“We want to get the story done first. This time it will also be set in a children's hospital,” he said.
Linda wants to take a break
In an interview with Oriental Daily recently, Linda, 36, confirmed that she was approached by producers for the sequel, however she declined the role.
While she is grateful for the opportunity, Linda, who lives in Vancouver with her chiropractor husband Jeremy Leung, 49, and two kids, five-year-old daughter Kelly and three-year-old son Jared, wants to take a break this year and focus on her family.
When the actress was shooting Kids’, which was her first TVB gig after six years away, she revealed that it could be her “last drama” as she couldn’t bear to be away from her kids.
Linda, who lost out on the Best Actress award at the TVB Anniversary Awards earlier this year, also said she “may never return” to her former employer.

Kevin, too, has been approached to star in the sequel, though he has yet to accept the offer.
“I am in discussion for a few projects, so we have to look at my schedule first. The producer also mentioned that it would be a brand new story, so I'll have to see if the role is suitable,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kenneth, who is about to begin work on upcoming law drama Legal Spokesperson, said he has yet to receive word on the sequel.
“I may not be available for the shoot. I don't think the original cast is necessarily needed as they want to develop a new story. They only need the original crew, not the cast,” he said.
