Lin Ching Hsia Says Her Relationship With 34-Year-Old Stepdaughter Is “Better Than Real Mothers And Daughters”

Taiwanese star Lin Ching Hsia is the perfect stepmother, and earlier this month, she shared with everyone at a press event, just how she does it.

The 68-year-old tied the knot with her billionaire husband, Michael Ying in 1994. The couple has two daughters together, Eileen, 25, and Melani, 20, while Michael has a daughter, Claudine, 34, from his first marriage to Hong Kong actress-designer Flora Cheong-Leen.

Ching Hsia has been a stepmother to Claudine since the latter was six. And at the event, Ching Hsia revealed that the two of them get along swimmingly well, even “better than real mothers and daughters”.

“With my eldest daughter [Claudine], I try to empathise with her, to look at things from her viewpoint. That’s why our relationship is very good, even better than that of real mothers and daughters,” Ching Hsia shared.

Back when Claudine was still active on social media, she frequently posted pictures with Ching Hsia, lending credibility to reports about their strong relationship.

A 2014 report also quoted a PR statement from Claudine, where she shared that Ching Hsia basically treats she’s her as her own flesh and blood.

"She is so thankful to Ching Hsia for being her stepmother, and always shares her personal life with Ching Hsia,” Claudine’s PR representative added.

According to reports, Claudine, who used to paint the town red as a socialite, now runs her own infant education centre in Hong Kong.
