Small parties are the norm these days, no thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It's probably why Japanese singer-actor Akira enjoyed a simple and low-key 39th birthday celebration at home with just his wife, Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chiling, this year. Then again, the famously private pair probably would have done it like that anyway, virus or no virus.
On August 25, Apple Daily shared exclusive photos from Akira’s management agency of the sumptuous-looking hotpot dinner Chiling had whipped up for him, along with a statement that reads: “The couple had a quiet celebration at home yesterday. Chiling surprised him early in the morning by putting up balloons and decorations around the house, and preparing hotpot at night. He was very happy and touched.”
