Chinese talk show host and stand-up comedian Li Dan, 31, definitely should have thought more carefully about the slogan he chose to use while promoting women’s underwear earlier this year.

Back in February, the comedy star posted an ad for Chinese lingerie brand Ubras on his Weibo, in which he described bras as “equipment that lets women win easily at work”.

The term he used for “win easily” was “tang ying”, which can be literally translated as “lying down [to] win”, thus sounding awfully like a double entendre insinuating that women can advance in their careers by sleeping around.
