Li Chen Loses Defamation Lawsuit Against Website That Shared An Article Calling Him A “Scumbag”

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing’s notorious tax evasion scandal and subsequent breakup — or not? — with Li Chen sparked a media frenzy over the past couple of years, and it looks like her former beau has been dealing with his own problems as well.

Back in January, Li Chen sued a popular Weibo entertainment news page for spreading an unflattering article about him titled “Scumbag Li Chen exposed”. The suit demanded a man surnamed Li to issue a public apology to the Chinese actor and pay 350,000 yuan (about S$70,400) to compensate for financial losses and emotional distress.
