Legend Of Zhen Huan Actress Accused Of Selling Fake Louis Vuitton Bag On Livestream

Chinese actress Chen Sisi, who shot to fame as the cunning Consort Cao in palace drama Legend of Zhen Huan, has found herself in the centre of controversy after she was accused of selling fake luxury bags on livestream.

According to Chinese media reports, a customer had purchased a second-hand Louis Vuitton bucket bag from Sisi’s livestream, but claimed the item looked different from online images when it was delivered.

Suspecting it was a fake, the customer took the bag to an authentication agency to get it examined.

Two experts questioned its authenticity, and one declared it counterfeit.

The customer requested a refund and eventually got one after multiple rounds of communication.

In response to the allegations, Sisi, 41, assembled her own team to investigate the claims.

According to her, their examination revealed the bag contained a chip, and the serial number confirmed its authenticity.

Furthermore, the actress contacted the inspection agency but found no official documentation to support the customer's claims.

In China, items deemed counterfeit are typically issued an official certificate proving their status.

Addressing the controversy, Sisi said: “Malicious competition within the industry is common, and spreading rumours is easy while refuting them is exhausting.”

She urged the public to “give time for the truth to come to light” and called for collective effort to “maintain a fair and trustworthy consumer environment”.

Despite her defense, many netizens remain unconvinced.

Some have even accused her of selling counterfeit goods for a while. “Did people ever think she was selling real goods? She has been selling so many – can they all be authentic?" read a comment.

Another netizen who claimed to have visited her studio during a livestream session questioned the pricing: “How can their prices be so cheap? It’s almost impossible to get these items at a bargain, right?”
