Wang Leehom Says He Will Perform Even If “Only One Person” Shows Up For His Comeback Concert In Las Vegas Next Month
Looks like Wang Leehom, who's been keeping a low profile ever since his very ugly divorce battle with ex-wife Lee Jinglei last December, is ready for his comeback.
Recently, it was announced that Leehom, 46, will be staging a concert, titled 'One: Lee Hom Wang', in Las Vegas on January 28 next year.
Concert organiser Kwan’s International said the gig will be "Leehom's first public appearance in a while".
And we know what you're thinking. What happens if nobody wants to buy tickets to watch him sing, right?
Well, that wouldn't be a problem for Leehom.
In a 15-second audio clip posted on Kwan’s International's Instagram, the singer could be heard declaring: “Even if there is only one person [in the audience], I'd still want to sing for you.”
When speaking to the media, Taiwanese producer Chiu Li-Kwan, who owns Kwan’s International, explained why the concert is named 'One: Lee Hom Wang'.
"Leehom is single, so it means 'ONE' right? I thought about it too, will anyone still want to listen to Leehom? One person? Or two? But based on what I understood from Leehom, even if there's only one person [in the audience], he would still sing."
Li-Kwan then added: "He loves music so much, why take away his right to sing for the ones who care for and believe in him?"
And according to Kwan’s International, this concert in the United States had been planned long ago.
"We already wanted to work together but it got delayed due to the pandemic, and we'll be getting back to work during Chinese New Year 2023."
When asked what Leehom has been up to lately, Kwan's International said that he's been "working very hard to practise his singing and composing."
The organiser, however, declined to answer any questions regarding Leehom's divorce with Jinglei, asserting that they only have a working relationship with the singer.
