Stanley Ho’s Daughter Laurinda Ho Says The Rent Of Her Restaurant Was Raised After The Landlord Found Out How Rich Her Family Is

The late Casino King Stanley Ho's daughter, Laurinda Ho, 31, recently appeared on Chinese talk show Bu Zhi Yu Ta (不止於她 ) to talk about what it’s like to be born into a wealthy family.

Laurinda, who has also been dubbed ‘the Most Beautiful Heiress’, revealed that although being a "Casino Princess" may have brought her many perks, but there were also obstacles she had to face, especially when it came to starting her own business.

According to Laurinda, who is the founder of Hongkong's Jiu Wu beef noodles restaurant chain, her rent increased when the landlord realised who she is.

Two days after her dad’s passing, Laurinda approached her landlord to discuss lowering the rent.

However, her landlord said: “You’re not going to lie to me and tell me you can’t afford it right, we were actually thinking of increasing it more.”

According to Laurinda, the landlord overcharged her solely because she's from a wealthy family.

She was, however, not surprised as she has always had to pay premium prices for things.

When she complained to her mum, Stanley's third wife Ina Chan, the latter simply comforted by saying "being in a rich family is a sin".

As usual, netizens were quick to pick up on Laurinda’s story, criticising her for not knowing how lucky she is to be born with a silver spoon in her mouth. One netizen also wrote: “Then what’s the sin for being poor?”

Plenty of netiens also left comments saying that they wouldn’t mind helping her "shoulder this sin".
