Apartment In Which Late HK Actress Lai Suk Yin Killed Herself Sold At S$1.7Mil Loss
The luxury apartment in which late Hong Kong actress Lai Suk Yin took her life has been put on the market a month after her death.
Suk Yin, best known for her role in 1996 Hong Kong triad film Young and Dangerous 3, committed suicide by burning charcoal in her home on December 26. She was 47.
According to reports, the three-bedroom condo at Broadview Terrace in North Point, which was rented to Suk Yin and her family, is being listed for HK$16mil (S$2.7mil), HK$10mil (S$1.7mil) below its market value.
The 1,035 sq ft1,035 sq ft apartment is situated on a low floor and has views of Victoria Harbour.
Prices for similar properties in the area range from HK$25mil to HK$26mil (S$4.2mil to S$4.5mil).
Suk Yin suffered from depression for two decades. According to reports, her condition was unstable, and she had to go to hospital for regular treatments.
The news of her death came as a shock to many as she was celebrating Christmas with friends and family the day before.
She left behind four sons, two with current her husband, and another two with her ex-husband Hong Kong martial artist and stuntman Ken Lo.
