Move Over Lee Kwok Lun, Fellow HK Actor Kwong Wa Is Now The “Worst Celeb E-Commerce Streamer”
Who said live streaming is easy?
Hongkong actor Kwong Wa, 59, who quit showbiz a decade ago to be an insurance agent, announced that he would be making his acting comeback earlier this month.
The news was met with much fanfare with netizens saying that they're looking forward to him acting in historical dramas again. Kwong Wa is best known for playing the Yongzheng Emperor in 2003 TVB series The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow.
Kwong Wa also shared that for the time being, he would focus on doing live streams. Sadly, his venture into the world of online sales haven’t been met with the best results.

In the past month, he’s held three live streams, two of which saw him selling products.
According to reports, Kwong Wa sold about 300 items in total, which works up to about 30K yuan (S$6,382) in sales.
In comparison, China’s former queen of live stream sales, Wei Ya, sold S$6.6bil of goods in 2020, which averages out to S$550mil in sales a month.

Kwong Wa’s sales were so bad, netizens are now calling him the “worst celeb e-commerce streamer”, a title previously held by TVB actor Lee Kwok Lun.
After selling next to nothing during an eight-hour live stream, Kwok Lun was bestowed that dubious honour by netizens.
However, he has since sold 171K yuan (S$36K) worth of products in the past month, which is six times more than Kwong Wa.
Let's hope things pick up for him soon
To make matters worse, Kwong Wa, who is based in China, is reportedly not getting any acting offers and has quietly returned to Hongkong with his family to spend Chinese New Year.
