Taiwanese star Kris Shen (沈建宏), 32, made his showbiz debut at 10 as a child actor, and is best known for his appearances in many idol dramas, including Spider Lilies (2007), and Memory Love (2017).

Kris now manages himself independently, with his last on-screen project being 2022 drama Rally For Love

The actor was recently spotted selling chicken at a wet market. He revealed he runs the business with his girlfriend Bella, and is doing this to earn some extra cash.

Last year, there were rumours that Kris fell out with famed artiste manager, Ben Xin, whom he regarded as his "godfather", because of Bella.

In response to the rumours, Kris said: “I was already with her before the quarrel with Ben-ge, the two matters are not related.”

After going his separate ways with his manager, Kris invested in several businesses, including a restaurant and an aesthetic clinic.

He knew of friends who made TW$80K - TW$120K (S$3.4K - $5.2K) from working full-time at a market and became interested in the venture.

He revealed they have been open for business for three months now, and averages TW$20K (S$850) in sales a month.

While acting offers are few and far between, Kris has yet to put his showbiz career behind him.

When the topic of “falling from fame” was brought up in an interview, Kris said: “I’m grown up now, and it’s time to live the life I want.”

Kris knows that many might think he is struggling financially, especially after they see him manning his stall.

He, however, remains positive. “I was never born rich. If I was, I wouldn’t have to enter showbiz at the age of 10.”
