Korean Street Stall Owner In Seoul Goes Viral For Speaking Fluent Malay With M’sian Tourists
He even gave himself a very cheeky Malay name.
While some Malay tourists lament how there aren’t many Halal food options when they holiday in South Korea, a dragon beard candy street stall owner in Myeongdong, Seoul is making Malay tourists feel a little more welcomed.
The stall owner, who goes by @yoonnala879 on TikTok, has gone viral for being very fluent in Malay.
In one video, a woman is heard asking for his name in Malay, to which he hilariously replied, “Kim Abuya Skibidi”
In another video, he even cheekily extended his name, adding “Tongkat Ali”.
Tongkat Ali is commonly used as an aphrodisiac in Southeast Asia.
When the woman tells Yoon that he's a celebrity, he confidently replies in Malay, “Very famous”.
Since the video was posted, it has been viewed more than three million times.
But before the ladies get all excited, we are sorry to burst your bubble. Yoon just got married to a Taiwanese woman in March this year.
In another clip, which has also clocked more than three million views, he is seen orchestrating a group of enthusiastic customers to chant the word “dessert” in Malay.
Malaysians were tickled by his command of the language and the way he confidently threw out Malay words.
“Who taught him to speak the language? Please own up,” read one comment.
Some netizens think he must have picked up Malay by watching Malaysian news after he brought up former Malaysia PM Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor when asking a tourist's name in another video.
