The elder brother of Korean singer-actress BoA is battling terminal cancer.

Kwon Soon Wook, 39, shared a lengthy Instagram post on Monday (May 10), revealing that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 peritoneal cancer, a rare form of cancer that develops in the peritoneum, a thin layer of tissue that lines the abdomen.

Soon Wook, who is a well-known music video director, has been feeling unwell since last year and often had to take time off from work. He underwent surgery in December as he was suffering from peritonitis. However, the stent inside his body perforated his intestine.

"Doctors said I have about two to three months to live. I can't believe this happened to me. I feel like it's a dream, but every morning I wake up to this harsh reality," he wrote.
