Korean Actress Hong Soo Ah, Known For Looking Like Fan Bingbing, Says Plastic Surgery Really Helped Her Career

The actress shared that her journey to change her looks with the help of plastic surgery started about six years ago, and that she was once stopped by airport security ‘cos she looked too different from her passport photo.

After heading to China to further her career in 2013, Soo Ah earned the nickname "Korean Fan Bingbing" 'cos of her resemblance to the Chinese actress at that time.

While we don’t exactly see the resemblance, netizens are loving how frank the actress is.

“I don’t think plastic surgery is a bad thing, to those who might have some health issues, or low self-confidence, plastic surgery can cure one’s spirit, and allow them to regain their confidence, as well as give them an opportunity to start a new life.” she said.

However, she also stressed that going under the knife is largely a personal choice, and that she did not want to unnecessarily promote such actions.

“Personally, I’ve never regretted going for plastic surgery. Regardless of whether it’s in Korea or China, after my surgery, my options as an actress increased substantially, and it opened up many new paths for me,” she added.

Netizens have largely been supportive of Soo Ah’s new look, with some noting that while she doesn’t exactly resemble Bingbing, she does look very attractive now.

Others were less enthused by Soo Ah’s story, with some claiming that the actress looks like a “plastic monster" now.
