Kitty Zhang, 37, Said To Have Broken Up With Chinese Basketballer, 25, One Day After He Shares Selfie Of Them Online

Is the festive season a good time for celebs to go public with their relationships?

Chinese basketballer Liu Zi Qi seems to think so.

On Chinese New Year Eve (Jan 28), the 25-year-old CBA star suddenly shared on Weibo a selfie with his rumoured girlfriend Kitty Zhang, 37. 

Netizens immediately assumed that was Zi Qi's way of confirming he's dating the Chinese actress, and he and Kitty's romance quickly trended online.

But... did Zi Qi get approval from Kitty before posting the selfie though?

When Chinese media Sina Entertainment reached out to Kitty to verify the news, they apparently received intel from an insider that "Kitty Zhang and said guy have become normal friends".

Does that mean they broke up overnight? Netizens seem to believe so.

"So dramatic. He just shared a photo and Kitty was so quick to deny their relationship," laughed one netizen.

Prior to this, Kitty was married to Chinese film director Wang Quan An from 2011 to 2015 and Chinese businessman Yuan Bayuan from 2016 to 2018.
