Did Kenneth Ma accidentally step on his make-up artist's toes or did his "New year New look" go horribly wrong?

In a recent magazine photoshoot, the 49-year-old actor, who tied the knot with Hong Kong actress Roxanne Tong, 36, in Thailand last month, shocked everyone with a bold — at least for him — look.

In the photos, Kenneth had on smokey eyeshadow and eyeliner, and while it's good that the actor is trying something different, netizens really hate it.

"Kenneth has a great personality but can his make-up artist please not bully him," wrote a netizen.

Another jeered: "He looks like an evil eunuch from a palace drama".

One netizen also remarked that the too-thick make-up on Kenneth's face made him resemble a... demon.

Yikes. Maybe everyone's just not used to the famously simple Kenneth upping his fashion game?
