Kenji Wu Breaks Down While Talking About Late Mum; Says She Really Wanted Him To Take Her To Paris
In a recent episode of Chinese reality competition Call Me By Fire 2, Taiwanese singer Kenji Wu, 42, and Chinese singer Ma Di were tasked to perform Eason Chan's hit song 'Long Time No See'.
While talking about his experience working on the performance, Kenji was reminded of his late mother and got really emotional.
Kenji shared how he had found a few photos of his mum, who passed away in 2018 after a six-year battle with liver fibrosis, in her room after her death.
"Those photos looked like they were taken in Paris (see below), in Hawaii, but they were all Photoshopped. I only realised after that that she just wanted me to accompany her to those places," said Kenji.
"That's why every time I look at that picture, I'd always be filled with regret. When she was taking the pictures at the studio, she even happily told others that her son would bring her to Paris, Hawaii and other places, but that didn't happen," he said, while sobbing uncontrollably.
The actor then went on to say that it's why he now takes his dad "overseas to play" every year.
