Kelly Chen Praised For How She Handled Fan Who Forced His Way Past Her Entourage Into Elevator For Photo With Her

Cantopop diva Kelly Chen, 53, has long been known for her down-to-earth charm and approachable personality. But while attending a recent event in China, her composure was put to the test — and she aced it. 

After wrapping up the event, Kelly was preparing to leave with her staff and had already entered the elevator, appearing relaxed. At that moment, an overzealous male fan suddenly rushed towards her with his phone in hand. Visibly agitated, he appeared to be demanding that she take a photo with him. 

Kelly’s crew immediately sprang into action, stepping forward to block him from reaching her. However, the man, determined to get a photo, began struggling against them and eventually forced his way through, managing to enter the elevator. He then pressed the lift button to keep the doors from closing, resulting in a very tense standoff.

Caught off guard, Kelly’s smile quickly vanished as she appeared visibly shocked by the man’s behaviour. As the fan and staff gathered in the tight space, she looked increasingly uncomfortable, retreating into a corner.

Despite the sudden situation, Kelly attempted to placate the fan, softly saying: “Calm down." 

When he did not respond, she chose to de-escalate the situation by offering to take the photo, as she quietly repeated: “I’ll step out.” She then moved to exit the lift to accommodate his request.

Upon hearing her offer, the fan finally calmed down and began preparing his phone. Kelly quickly regained her composure and even urged him on, playfully telling him to “hurry up” as he got ready. Her lighthearted remark instantly eased the tension, and with the help of her staff, the fan eventually got his photo before leaving.

The entire incident, which was captured on video, quickly went viral online. Kelly was praised for her quick thinking, with many saying that although she appeared startled, she remained gracious and composed, calmly defusing what could have become a chaotic situation.

Some also expressed admiration for her “high EQ,” while others remarked that she is “beautiful inside and out, with wisdom to match her looks".
