Team Behind Chinese Variety Show Keep Running Apparently Edited Safety Belts Onto Celebs In Car

Does it still count as a traffic violation if the seat belts were Photoshopped in?

After months of scandals that had Angelababy and Cai Xukun edited out of episodes, the highly anticipated 12th season of hit Chinese variety show Keep Running aired its first episode last Friday (Apr 26).

However, it seems even the first episode which saw the return of its cast such as Zheng Kai and Bai Lu was not without controversy.

As the guests travelled to Nanning City for a mission, sharp-eyed netizens pointed out that the seat belts at the back of the car seem to have been edited in.

The straps around Zheng Kai and guest Zhang Zhengyuan who were seated at the back were added by the post-production team in case the show would get penalised for breaking any traffic laws by the government.

Hey, at least they are promoting car safety this time, right?

Sharp-eyed netizens spotted the Photoshopped seat belts
We thought these were fake too but apparently Yang Tianzhen (right) and Li Chen (right) didn't need post-production work on their seatbelts.
On closer inspection, Song Yuqi (right) and Zhou Shen's seatbelts were legit.

In 2013, the Korean Running Man received backlash when guest star, 2NE1’s Park Bom, was spotted not wearing a seat belt in a moving car.

After the discrepancies, netizens quickly took to laughing about how the episode’s theme of psychological warfare ended up becoming a game for viewers to spot what had been tampered with using Photoshop magic.
