On Wednesday (Dec 14), TVB announced its Top 10 shortlist of nominees for the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards.

What came as a shock to many was Katy Kung not making the cut for Best Actress for her performance in Brutally Young 2.0.

The 33-year-old did get nominated for Most Popular Female Character though.

Katy is still up for the Most Popular Female Character award

In an interview with the Hong Kong press, a visibly disappointed Katy said: "I think every character in the show is very important, not being nominated does not mean that [I] can't act well."

The actress also appeared to be choking back her tears.

However, Katy said she wasn't crying and that she was just down with a nasal allergy.

She also insisted that she's not disappointed about not making the shortlist because getting an award is really very difficult.

So who are the actresses who made the shortlist?

Well, there's Nina Paw, Elena Kong, Alice Chen, Jeannie Chan, Natalie Tong, Nancy Wu, Selena LeeMoon Lau, Samantha Ko and Kelly Cheung.
