Jun Ji Hyun Reportedly Pays For S$13Mil Penthouse In Cash

South Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun is known for being a savvy real estate investor.
The 41-year-old, who owns an apartment and three commercial buildings with a total market value of more than 140 billion won (S$140.5mil), is one of the richest K-celeb property moguls.
Last September, she expanded her portfolio with the purchase of a penthouse on the 47th floor of the swanky Acro Seoul Forest in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong.
She reportedly bought the 2,800 sq ft apartment for a whopping 13bil won (S$13.04 mil), making it the most expensive apartment sale in Seoul in 2022.
And she paid it all in cash.
The previous owner, who bought the property for 6.06bil (S$6.07mil) in 2017, made a cool profit of almost 7bil (S$7mil) from the sale.
According to reports, the penthouse is owned by Alpha Company, a joint venture between Ji Hyun and her banker husband Choi Joon Hyuk.
The actress owns 92.3 percent of the company, and Joon Hyuk the remaining 7.7 percent.
The couple and their two kids, aged five and seven, are expected to move into the apartment.
Other celebrity residents at the condo include actor Lee Jae Hoon and Shinee’s Taemin. The multipurpose complex is also home to SM Entertainment, one of the country’s most iconic music agencies.
