Chinese Host Jin Xing, Who Is Transgender, Accuses Jiangsu TV Of Discrimination After They Leave Her Out Of Variety Show Poster
This is not the first time the 54-year-old has been discriminated in showbiz.
Jin Xing, 54, is one of China’s most famous and respected hosts and while the star, who transitioned in 1995, has been successful for many years, there seems to be some sort of conspiracy to cancel her recently.
Last September, Jin Xing was announced as one of the stars of Jiangsu Television’s new variety show Work For Dream. However, when the official poster for the show was released on Dec 30, she was nowhere to be found on it.
A livid Jin Xing has since lashed out at the broadcaster on Weibo, writing: “The photo is missing the most important person… Jiangsu TV, don’t just follow [what others are doing] blindly. Tell me why you did this.”
After not getting a response, she wrote another post: “During the show’s recording, I’ve been encouraging and reminding the students who are overseas that they should stay grounded when they come back to China. I told them to promote our national brand to the world and to tell everyone the Chinese story. Are you telling me that such positivity is problematic? Please explain yourselves.”
