Chinese actress and singer Jin Sha, 44, is engaged after her boyfriend Sun Cheng Xiao, 25, pulled off a picture-perfect proposal in Iceland.

The couple broke the happy news on Christmas Eve, sharing a dreamy proposal video filmed against an icy backdrop on the stunning Diamond Beach.

The video shows Cheng Xiao dropping to one knee before pulling Jin Sha into a tight embrace, sealing the moment with a kiss straight out of an idol drama.

The couple captioned their Weibo posts with just three lines:
“Time: 2025.12.23
Location: Iceland Diamond Beach
Event: Proposal”

Since going public with their relationship on reality show Viva La Romance in 2023, the two had faced no shortage of skepticism, with some netizens even mocking their romance as a “mother-and-son relationship.” 

After all, Cheng Xiao is 19 years younger, a Shanghai Theatre Academy graduate who was just starting out in the industry at the time.

Many naysayers believed he was merely using Jin Sha to break into showbiz, and even labelled him a “kept man”.

But the couple, who reportedly met at a gathering, have consistently proved otherwise.

Cheng Xiao went all out to win Jin Sha’s heart, even cooking more than 100 different dishes for her.

Fans have flooded social media with congratulatory messages, with many admitting they never expected the relationship to go this far.

“The most unexpected couple actually made it” read one comment.

Another said: “They said they were going to Iceland for a trip — turns out it was for a proposal. That’s wonderful. Congratulations!”

Describing their story as a real-life romance drama, one netizen joked: “As long as you take good care of yourself, your husband might still be in kindergarten.”
