Back in 2017, Jimmy Lin’s older brother Lin Zhijie made headlines when it was revealed that he was running a popular cheong fun stand on Siping Street in Taipei. But when he was approached by the press, Zhijie denied being related to the Taiwanese singer-actor at first because he didn't want to get his family involved.

Jimmy later confirmed that he and Zhijie are indeed siblings, and made an appearance at the latter’s stall to show his support. “Ordinary does not mean unsuccessful,”Jimmy wrote on Facebook, adding that he is “very proud” of his big brother.
